Steering Damper Brackets (modified)

These brackets fit on the steering rod and the chassis crossmember allowing the fitting of a steering damper (Damper NOT included, you can buy these so cheaply from Ebay it is not worth me selling them!)

PLEASE NOTE: It has been reported that this current bracket will not fit standard Jimnys that still have their "Anti-Roll" bar fitted. I am investigating an alternative bracket for these standard vehicles. Also the current batch of U-Bolts are a tight fit, you may have to squeeze them to  fit them in the bracket when assembling onto the vehicle.

The installation pictures below shows them in prototype form (painted blue), the production kit are a smart plated finish. The kit comes complete with the bolts and U-Bolts.

In addition to the above you will require a Damper. Clicking THIS LINK should give you a selection to choose from, I went for the cheapest!. The picture below shows how it should all look.

The large bracket fits up onto the chassis cross member, tight up against the chassis. You may need to wiggle the pipework to get it in.

The other bracket fits onto the steering arm. Note: you can fit the bracket either way around depending on the space on the arm available (depends on the damper). My damper is long so the bracket has to tuck under the damper, I had to trim the ends of the U-Bolts to stop it hitting the damper. Clearly we do not kown what damper you are going to fit and we can only get U-bolts in standard lengths so you may have to use a hacksaw to trim the bolt ends yourself.
